Get started with Hams
Learn what Hams is and how to discover and download your first media.
What is Hams?
Hams is a browser for downloading videos and images. Browse supported webpages as usual; when Hams finds downloadable content, preview it, choose an available quality, and save it to your device—without copying links or switching apps.
Available now on Android 10 and later · iOS in development · Free download · Includes in-app purchases
Is Hams free to use?
Hams provides basic browsing, finding downloadable videos and images and download capabilities and can be downloaded and used for free.
VIP members have only three benefits: removal of regular app ads, Private Vault, and longer browsing history retention (30 days/300 items). On top of this, SVIP provides high-speed downloads, 2K and 4K original quality, batch downloads of list pages, and Extreme Vaults. VIPs are only exempt from regular app ads; rewarded ads used to preview SVIP features may still appear.
There is no free trial period for Hams. The "Preview SVIP feature" in the app is to watch rewarded ads in exchange for a trial within the current session, and is not a free trial provided by the store.
Members subscribe through Google Play, offering annual, monthly, and weekly subscriptions, with no buyout or lifetime plans. Actual prices and current benefits are subject to the in-app purchase page.
Learn about VIP and SVIPHow to complete the first download?
Open the web page in Hams and browse normally or play the media you want to save. After the video or image on the page actually loads, Hams will try to discover the corresponding resource.
After the download button becomes available, open the download panel, preview and filter the content, select the available quality actually provided by the web page, and then start downloading.
After the download is complete, you can view and open the file in the Download Center.
Check out the five-step beginner's tutorialDo I have to copy the web link?
No need to copy the link to other download tools.
As long as the web page is open in Hams and the media has actually loaded, Hams will try to find downloadable videos and images while browsing.
Some content may require scrolling or starting playback before loading.

Learn why Hams finds downloadable items on some pages but not on others.
Does Hams support every website?
No. Hams supports common platforms such as Baidu, X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Reddit, TikTok and Douyin, Weibo, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, WeChat official accounts, Telegram Web, Pinterest, Snapchat, Dailymotion, and NetEase. Other websites use general detection, and results depend on the page structure and media format.
Hams explicitly excludes 47 domains, including YouTube, Google, Netflix, Disney+, iQiyi, Tencent Video and mainstream official streaming platforms in various countries. Hams does not provide download support on these sites, there will be no download button, and continued troubleshooting will yield no results.
Even on supported platforms, actual results depend on web page structure, media formats, login status, access rights and technical measures used by the website. Hams does not bypass logins, paywalls, or access controls; DRM-protected content is not supported, so Hams cannot download it.
Learn about media compatibilityThe page can play a video. Why does Hams not find it?
First confirm whether the site is within the supported range. Hams explicitly excludes 47 domains, including YouTube, Google, Netflix, Disney+, iQiyi, and Tencent Video,. There will be no download buttons on these sites, and continued investigation will yield no results.
On supported sites, the page being able to display the player does not necessarily mean that the video or image has actually been loaded. You can try in sequence: 1. Continue to browse the page; 2. Open the video details; 3. Start playing the media; 4. Wait for the page to finish loading; 5. Refresh the page and play again.
The login page and authentication page do not provide download support. If the content is protected by DRM, encrypted playback, dynamic authorization or access control, Hams cannot discover or download it.
Open the media not detected troubleshooting guideWhy are there multiple similar resources in the download panel?
The same web page may simultaneously load covers, thumbnails, previews, videos of different resolutions, and other media materials on the page.
The Downloads panel focuses on the items Hams has found and can process, grouped by content. It is recommended to judge the content by thumbnail, type and quality tags, and then select the files you really need; different quality levels of the same video are mutually exclusive. Selecting a new version will automatically cancel other versions in the same group.
There is no independent filter bar in the panel, and filtering by type is performed by the video and image buttons in "Quick Selection". It is not recommended to download all of them directly after seeing multiple results.
Learn about the download panelCan Hams handle live media?
When a web page actually loads a compatible live or streaming resource, Hams can attempt to discover and process the content. Usually you need to let the live stream start playing, wait for the media to actually load, and then check the download button and download panel.
Hams does not differentiate between live and on-demand, nor does it automatically stop at a certain location. Live stream tasks will continue until the live stream ends, the network is interrupted, or you manually cancel it. Please pay attention to the duration, traffic and storage usage.
Actual results vary depending on website, media format, login status, network and technical limitations. The discovery of resources or the successful creation of tasks does not necessarily mean that the entire live stream process can be completely saved.

Can I choose 4K, 2K or 1080p?
The quality you can choose depends on the version actually available on the page. When a web page is available in multiple quality levels and is discovered by Hams, the desired version can be selected in the download panel.
The upper limit of download quality for the regular version and VIP is 1080P, and the original 2K and 4K quality are SVIP rights. When using select all or batch selection by type, if a video only has a version higher than 1080P, non-SVIP will be skipped in its entirety and will not be automatically downgraded to a lower quality.
When you click on a high-quality resource individually, you may be provided with a preview after watching a rewarded ad, and it is only effective for this resource; the quality button in the quick selection and the 2K / 4K in the settings page do not provide preview. Higher quality generally results in larger files and consumes more network traffic and storage space.
Learn about quality optionsCan I download multiple videos or images at once?
Can. When multiple resources are found on the same page, you can first use the video or image button in "Quick Selection" to filter, confirm the content through preview, and then select multiple files to join the download task.
Batch downloads of list pages require SVIP on X, Instagram and Pinterest platforms; ordinary users on other platforms can enter the details page and watch ads to unlock downloads.
Batch selection means creating multiple tasks at one time and does not mean that all files are downloaded concurrently at the same time. The number of concurrent downloads is always 1 in the regular version and VIP, and only SVIP can be adjusted (up to 6).
View SVIP bulk download demoCan I continue browsing the web while downloading?
After the task is successfully added to the Download Center, you can return to the web page to continue browsing and check the download progress if needed. A system notification is displayed for each task without a progress bar.
Ordinary direct link downloads are carried by system background tasks; HLS (m3u8) tasks need to be transcoded on the device and are not protected by the system background. The task will be interrupted after the app is terminated by the system, and it will return to the waiting state when the app is reopened.
Hams does not resume interrupted downloads, and the interrupted tasks will be downloaded again from the beginning. For important or larger tasks, it is recommended to maintain a stable network, avoid manually ending the app, and regularly check the actual status in the Download Center.
Learn about background downloadsWhere are downloaded files saved?
Completed content can be viewed and opened in the Hams Download Center.
Files are saved in the device's public storage Download/Hams/ Directory, videos, images and audio are not divided into directories, they are all placed in the same folder. The name of this folder can be modified in the "Save Location" of the app settings.
Hams does not write files to the system album. Saved content usually appears in the "Downloads" directory of the file manager, not in the Photos app.
It is not recommended to move temporary files that are still being downloaded directly through the file manager.
Learn about file managementWhat should I do if the download fails or keeps waiting?
First check whether the web page is still accessible, as well as the network connection and available storage space on the device. Hams does not check the remaining space before downloading, and the task will end with a write failure when there is insufficient space.
Hams does not support resuming interrupted downloads. Resume after pause or retry after failure will re-download from 0 bytes, and the downloaded part will not be retained.
Timeout, current limiting and server 5xx errors will be automatically retried, up to 2 times; other errors will be directly judged as failures. Failed tasks can be retried manually in the Download Center. There is no upper limit for the number of manual retries.
When a normal download task fails, the original error code is displayed (for example http_403, ioFailure, permissionDenied), not a translated description. DRM protection, media address expiration, login status changes, and website restrictions can all cause task failure.

What is the difference between VIP and SVIP?
VIP is an experience enhancement layer with only three benefits: removal of regular app ads, Private Vault, and 30 days/300 browsing history retention. Download quality, number of concurrent downloads, list page batch downloads, and advanced browser features are completely the same between VIP and regular versions.
SVIP is a complete capability layer that provides high-speed downloads, 2K and 4K original quality, list page batch downloads, larger download previews, and Extreme Vaults (device authentication, automatic locking after leaving) in addition to VIP rights.
Private Vaults and Extreme Vaults are two independent safes, not two security levels of the same safe, and their files are not connected to each other.
VIPs are only exempt from regular app ads; rewarded ads used to preview SVIP features may still appear. Membership benefits and prices are subject to the current membership page in the app.
View membership plansI have purchased a membership, why are the benefits not shown?
Hams does not require an account to register or log in, and membership benefits follow the Google Play account you used when purchasing. Please first confirm that the Google Play account used by the current device is the same as when purchased, and ensure that the network connection is normal.
Then use the Restore Purchases feature on the app's membership or purchase page and wait for the subscription status to resync.
If it still hasn't recovered, please don't make a repeat purchase. Send the purchase time, Google Play order number, and a screenshot of the issue to Hams Support for further review.
Contact Member SupportWill Hams upload my downloads?
No. Hams browsing history and saved media stay on the device. Finding downloadable items and download processing happen on the device, and downloaded files are not uploaded to Hams.
Hams does not have a traditional account and only uses an anonymous identity for membership verification and advertising reward attribution. Necessary online services will be used for subscription verification, crash diagnosis and functions required to maintain service operation. The specific scope of data processing is subject to the current privacy policy.
There are two safes, both of which are exclusive to Android: Private Vault (VIP) and Extreme Vault (SVIP). Both moving and restoring are completed in the Download Center. The main entrance is "Move to Safe" and restore in the "⋮" menu of the file card. You can also click the file three times in succession for quick operations.
The Private Vault does not prevent screenshots; every operation of the Extreme Vault requires authorization from the Internet, and the files in it cannot be opened when offline. Safes are not a substitute for device system passwords and complete device protection.
